Click the house icon in the left‑hand navigation bar to open the Property module. If you have access to multiple properties, you may be prompted to select one from a list; otherwise, you’ll be taken directly to your property’s detail page.
In Mission Control, selecting a property from the Property Search field also opens its Property module view.
Once on the Property page, you can navigate between sections using the tabs along the top: Property, Guests, Vendors, Restricted, Vehicles, Entries, Credentials and Audit.
This default tab displays the property’s basic information and community details.
Street/City/State/Zip – Shows the registered address for the property. Click Edit to update the address if you have permission. Use Reset to revert any unsaved changes.
Status – Indicates whether the property is Occupied or Vacant. If the property is scheduled for vacancy, the Vacancy Start and Vacancy End dates will be shown. Gate attendants rely on this information to manage access.
Gate Attendant Notes – Internal notes visible to security staff. For example, property owners can leave instructions for deliveries or visitor handling.
After making changes, click Save (if available) to apply them.
The Guests tab lists all guests who are authorized to enter the community on behalf of this property.
Use the Search Guests field to look up an existing guest by name.
Click Add Guest to register a new guest. You will be prompted to enter the guest’s full name, contact information, and access level (e.g., one‑time, recurring, or permanent). Some communities also allow you to specify the dates or times when the guest is allowed entry.
Existing guests appear in a list with their status (PERM/TEMP). Clicking a guest opens their profile, where you can edit or remove them. You can also view any notes associated to that guest.
NOTE: When creating a new Guest, the system defaults to making that Guest temporary and only valid on that day. Users can change the end date or make the entry permenant as desired.
Naming tip: When adding a guest, always use the visitor’s full legal name exactly as it appears on their identification card. Guards rely on accurate spelling to locate guests in the Name Search; nicknames or misspellings can prevent the visitor from showing up in search results which might cause confusion.
This tab functions much like the Guests tab but is intended for vendors—service providers such as landscapers, cleaners or contractors. Vendors are typically fictious names and note a person.
Search for existing vendors or click Add Vendor to register a new vendor. You may need to specify the vendor company name, contact person and services provided.
NOTE: Like with Guests, Watchtower defaults to a temporary registration valid only on the day created. Users are able to change the end date or make the Vendor permanent as desired.
Naming tip: Just like guests, vendors should be registered using their legal business name or the full name of the vendor contact. Proper spelling ensures guards can find the vendor quickly during the name search.
The Restricted tab lists individuals who are explicitly denied access to the property.
Click Restrict Guest to add a person to the restricted list. Provide the person’s name and any relevant notes (e.g., reason for restriction). Once restricted, the person will be denied entry until they are removed from the list.
Global restriction: Administrators can globally restrict a visitor from the entire community. This is used when someone is barred from entering any property, regardless of the destination. Only users with administrator privileges can apply or remove a global restriction. A globally restricted visitor will appear at the top of the Name Search within Mission Control.
The restricted list helps gate attendants enforce homeowner preferences, community policies and security protocols.
This tab displays all vehicles registered to the property.
Use the Search Vehicles field to find a vehicle by make, model or license plate.
Click Add Vehicle to register a new vehicle. You’ll enter details such as vehicle make, model, color and license plate number.
Creating Vehicles will expedite the process to assign a credential to that vehicle (for example: barcodes, RFID tags, or LPR).
Registered vehicles may be eligible for automatic or expedited entry at gated communities equipped with license‑plate recognition.
The Entries tab provides a log of all visitor and resident entries and exits associated with the property.
Search entries using the Search Entries field. Results include visitor name, type (guest, vendor, resident) and the timestamp of entry or exit.
Some users have the ability to record an entry directly from this tab. This step can also be accomplished via Mission Control.
Credentials are codes or devices (e.g., QR codes, fobs) used to grant gate access.
Use Search Credentials to find existing credentials.
Click Add Credential to issue a new access credential. Barcodes are the most common credential. Other formats include RFID, LPR and mobile.
Deactivate or delete credentials when they are no longer needed to maintain security.
The Audit tab provides a chronological record of changes made to the property’s data. This may include guest additions/removals, vehicle updates, credential changes and status modifications. Use the audit log to trace who made a change and when.
Keep your guest, vendor and vehicle lists current. Removing inactive or obsolete entries helps security staff work efficiently.
Use the Restricted list judiciously. Include notes explaining why a person is restricted so that guards understand the context.
Regularly review the Audit tab to monitor changes and ensure compliance with community policies.
If your community supports license‑plate recognition or digital credentials, encourage residents and vendors to register vehicles and obtain credentials to speed up entry.
