How to Restrict a Visitor in Watchtower

How to Restrict a Visitor in Watchtower

In rare cases you may need to block an individual from entering your property or the entire community. Watchtower provides two types of restrictions:

  • Property‑level restrictions – Prevent a visitor from accessing your specific property.

  • Global restrictions – Ban a visitor from all properties in the community. Only administrators can apply global restrictions.

This guide explains how to restrict a visitor and, if necessary, remove the restriction later.

Property‑Level Restrictions

  1. Log in to
    mywatchtower.app
    and open your property.

  2. Go to the Restricted tab. Here you’ll see visitors currently restricted from your property.

  3. Click Restrict Guest

  4. Select either Visitor or Vendor.  See below for Global restrictions.

  5. Enter the visitor’s Full Name

  6. (Optional) Add a Reason or Notes explaining the restriction (e.g., trespassing, violation of community rules).

  7. Click Save. The visitor is now blocked from your property. Gate attendants using Mission Control will see a Deny action when the visitor appears on the entry list.

Global (Community‑Wide) Restrictions

Community administrators can apply a global restriction that bars a visitor from entering any property in the community. The process is similar but occurs at the Community → Restricted module:

  1. Only administrators can access the Community Module. Open Community → Restricted.

  2. Click Restrict Guest. Fill in the person’s Name and any identifying information.

  3. Provide a Reason for the community‑wide ban.

  4. Save the restriction. The individual will now be denied entry to the community regardless of destination property. A red Deny button will appear next to their name in Mission Control for every property within the community

Removing or Editing Restrictions

If circumstances change (e.g., misunderstanding resolved), you can lift or modify a restriction:

  1. Navigate back to the Restricted tab (property or community level).

  2. Find the visitor in the list. Click Delete to remove the restriction entirely.

  3. Confirm your choice. Once removed, the visitor will be treated like any other guest unless re‑restricted.

Best Practices

  • Use restrictions judiciously. Clearly document the reason for each restriction to avoid confusion.

  • For serious incidents, consider notifying property management or law enforcement in addition to applying the restriction.

  • Only administrators should issue global restrictions; they have broader impact on the community.

By properly managing restrictions, you ensure the community remains secure while allowing authorized guests and vendors to access the property without hassle.
