How to Configure Your Notification Settings in Watchtower

Watchtower keeps you informed about visitor arrivals, gate activity and property requests through email and push notifications. You can tailor which alerts you receive and how they are delivered. This article explains how to manage notification settings for your account.

1 – Access the Notification Settings

  1. Log in to
    mywatchtower.app

  2. Click your profile icon and choose Account Settings.

  3. Select the Notifications tab. Here you’ll see options for Email, Push and SMS notifications.

2 – Email and Push Notifications

By default, Watchtower enables both email and push notifications for important events such as:

  • Guest or vendor arrivals

  • Property request approvals/denials

  • System alerts from your community

You can toggle each option on or off using the switches next to Email Notifications and Push Notifications. Remember to click Save after making changes.

Device Considerations

Push notifications rely on your mobile device. Make sure Watchtower has permission to send notifications in your phone’s system settings (iOS or Android). If you disable push notifications at the device level, toggling them in Watchtower will have no effect.

3 – SMS Notifications (Optional)

Due to changes in carrier regulations introduced in mid‑2025, SMS notifications are disabled by default. Communities that wish to enable SMS must purchase a dedicated messaging gateway. If your community has subscribed to this service, an SMS Notifications toggle will appear on your notification settings page.

To activate SMS, switch the toggle on and enter your mobile phone number. Standard messaging rates may apply.

If the SMS option is not visible, contact your community administrator to inquire about enabling it.

Best Practices

  • Keep your email address and phone number up to date in Account Settings → Personal Details so you don’t miss important communications.

  • For timely gate alerts, enable push notifications and allow them in your device settings.

  • If you share responsibilities within a household, ensure all residents have their own accounts with notifications configured accordingly.

Watchtower’s flexible notification system ensures you are always aware of activity at your property, helping you stay secure and connected.
